The NC Climate Justice Collective works to transform into a society that ensures all people and our planet are thriving. They believe that achieving climate justice requires a fundamental societal transition based on social, environmental, and economic justice principles. They center their work on the leadership of youth, indigenous peoples, people of color, women, low-income, and LGBTQI+ people. They strive to end the injustice practices of coal ash pollution, fracked gas infrastructure, biomass from forest destructions, and biogas from factory farms. Their vision is to reach a cultural shift where society turns away from destruction and towards earth-honoring and inclusive community building.
